Signing in to apps
Whether sign-in for a workspace app goes through your organization's directory is a property of the product that app belongs to, not of the individual app. This page renders that answer from the same place the product does, rather than describing it a second time.
How sign-in works here
Where a product supports it, your organization's directory is the way in: the platform signs the person in, and the app has no separate account for them. Where a product does not, the app keeps its own accounts — the platform holds no account for that person, and the app's own page says so in the same words this page uses.
The answer is per product and never per app, so two apps that belong to the same product always report the same thing. The sign-in line on an app's own page, its Help tab, and the Access tab's summary all read from that one answer.
Each product
- Forgejo — Organization directory. Sign-in goes through your organization directory.
- Matrix — Organization directory. Sign-in goes through your organization directory.
- Nextcloud — Organization directory. Sign-in goes through your organization directory.
- Plane — Accounts inside the app. Plane keeps its own accounts and signs members in with an email code. If no code arrives, ask an owner or admin of your organization.
What this page does not claim
A product whose sign-in does not go through your organization's directory is described as such by the same function that describes it everywhere else in the platform, so this page cannot overstate it — and it states nothing about when access to an app ends. The platform can end access through a directory it really signs someone in with, and nowhere else.
